One building with many different needs
The Jewish Federation of Baltimore needed technology that could keep up with everything happening inside. Fitness instructors needed clear audio and hands-free microphones. Staff needed dependable video conferencing. The auditorium needed to support presentations and community events. Each space had its own requirements, but the systems still needed to be straightforward to use and manageable for the people supporting them.
Keeping members connected throughout the building
With members, staff, guests, and multiple organizations sharing the facility, reliable connectivity was a key part of the renovation. The project called for cellular coverage across AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, along with a cabling and fiber backbone to support the building’s technology needs.
Supporting first responder communication
The renovation also required a public safety radio system designed to meet NFPA and Baltimore City requirements. First responders needed dependable radio communication inside the building, making coverage an essential part of the project.
Bringing it all together during construction
All of these systems had to come together within an active construction schedule. The JCC needed an integration partner that could coordinate the work across disciplines and deliver technology suited to each space.

AV built around each space
MidPoint connected The Associated’s AV systems through one Q-SYS platform, making room controls consistent and easy to use. A lobby video wall welcomes visitors, while the auditorium’s 189-inch LED wall, wireless microphones, and assisted listening system support presentations and community events.
Tools for work and wellness
Eight conference rooms and the Library feature video conferencing and wireless presentation tools. Fitness instructors can lead classes with wireless headsets and Bluetooth audio. A dedicated podcast studio gives teams space to create content, while office sound masking helps conversations stay private.
The connections behind it all
MidPoint installed Cat6 cabling, an armored fiber backbone, and fully equipped telecom rooms to connect the building’s systems. Every cable was labeled and tested, making it easier to maintain the technology and plan for future needs.
Reliable coverage throughout
A Nextivity Cel-Fi system improves AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon coverage for members, staff, and guests. A separate public safety DAS supports first responder radio communication inside the building and helps the facility meet code requirements.
Making everyday activities easier
Instructors can start class with a wireless headset, presenters can share content wirelessly, and staff can connect with remote meeting participants. The technology helps people get on with what they came to do.
Simpler for staff to manage
With AV systems on one shared platform, staff have a consistent way to control and support different spaces throughout the building.
Keeping people connected
Improved cellular coverage helps employees, members, and guests stay connected. A dedicated public safety radio system also supports first responder communication inside the building.
Room to grow
The new cabling and fiber infrastructure gives The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore and its network agencies a foundation to build on as their teams, programs, and technology needs change.
Support beyond installation
MidPoint’s support continued after installation. Jack Smith, Vice President of IT at The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore, highlighted the team’s responsiveness, communication, and follow-through in helping make the project a success.
MidPoint is the central hub for integrated technology systems—bringing Audio-Visual, Electronic Security, Structured Cabling, and IT-Wireless Services together to work in perfect synergy.
