Howard County Community College (HCC) has been struggling with inadequate AV services in their gymnasium and basketball complex, which has made hosting events far more challenging than they should be. The existing setup lacked reliable audio coverage, causing frequent feedback, dead zones, and inconsistent sound quality during games, assemblies, and community functions. Their video capabilities are also limited, making it difficult to support scoreboards, livestreams, or presentations without bringing in temporary gear. These gaps not only create frustration for staff and attendees, but also diminish the overall experience for students and visitors. Improving the AV infrastructure would allow HCC to host events with confidence and elevate the quality of every program held in the space.

We completed the full buildout of the HCC Math & Athletics Complex, including a state-of-the-art Athletics wing featuring a Performance Gym and a versatile multi-use space designed for both live events and large group presentations. The Performance Gym is equipped to stream events over the network to remote audiences, expanding the reach of campus activities. A fully integrated broadcast booth connects seamlessly to the locker rooms, auxiliary spaces, and all shot-clock and game systems to support smooth event production. The facility also incorporates a Daktronics direct-view LED scoreboard, a complete game-clock system, and a Pixellot AI camera setup. Together, these upgrades provide a modern, high-performance environment for athletics, academic functions, and community events.
This work pleased the client because it transformed their outdated spaces into a fully modern, flexible, and connected athletics facility. By giving them reliable streaming capabilities, HCC can now reach remote audiences without bringing in outside equipment, which saves time and elevates their event experience. The integrated broadcast booth and game-system tie-ins created a smoother, more professional production workflow for staff. The new Daktronics scoreboard and Pixellot AI camera system significantly improved both the visual experience for fans and the technical quality of recordings.
