MidPoint Technology Group Named One of Greater Baltimore’s Fastest-Growing Private Company

Columbia-based MidPoint Technology Group has once again secured its position as the fastest-growing private company in Greater Baltimore – marking the second consecutive year it has topped the region’s growth rankings.

Founded in a Baltimore townhome in 2014, MidPoint has continued to ride the surging demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure. The company nearly doubled its revenue from $67 million in 2023 to $124 million in 2024 and has achieved a remarkable two-year average growth rate of 72% since 2022, following an already impressive 74% average between 2021 and 2023.

MidPoint operates as a comprehensive technology solutions provider, offering audio-visual integration, electronic security, structured cabling, IT services, and more. But it is the company’s data center infrastructure work—now critical as private-sector AI adoption accelerates—that has propelled its recent expansion.

CEO David Kaspary Jr. said MidPoint is projecting between $250 million and $300 million in revenue this year, a milestone that reflects not only sustained momentum but a significant leap in market presence as demand for data center construction soars.

“With the AI boom, and with our role providing the backbone infrastructure inside data centers, our momentum has only continued to build,” Kaspary said.

Industry forecasts point to even stronger tailwinds. A 2024 McKinsey & Co. analysis estimates global data center capacity demand could more than triple by 2030, and a 2025 report projects companies will need to invest $6.7 trillion in data center infrastructure to meet those needs—over $5.2 trillion of which will be required to support AI-ready facilities.

“We constantly monitor how companies are adopting new technologies so we can help them enhance productivity,” Kaspary added.

MidPoint is now preparing for strategic geographic expansion. The company already covers much of the Northwest and plans to grow its presence in Arizona and extend further into the Southeast—regions identified by McKinsey as emerging hubs for data center development. As traditional markets like Virginia and Santa Clara face power supply constraints, AI-focused data centers are increasingly being built in less congested areas where energy availability is stronger.

“The diversification of data center locations—and the need for redundancy across regions—creates tremendous opportunity but also unique challenges,” Kaspary said.

One of MidPoint’s biggest challenges is scaling its workforce. The company now employs 369 people, with 160 based in Greater Baltimore, and has added 323 employees since 2020. Kaspary noted that MidPoint reinvests nearly 90% of its earnings back into expansion, employee development, and long-term innovation.

Outside of its rapid growth in data center services, MidPoint has strengthened its capabilities through strategic partnerships. The company became a master certified installer with Lencore, enabling it to deliver end-to-end audio services. It also partnered with Prince George’s County–based RedTrace Technologies to merge MidPoint’s security framework with RedTrace’s cyber defense expertise—including incident response, advanced training, and threat assessment.

“We’re willing to do what other companies aren’t,” Kaspary said. “We stand behind our products and services, and we make sure every project is delivered to the complete satisfaction of the client.”
